To help disaster survivors in Morocco and in other parts of the world
The major quake, with a magnitude of 6.8 and a depth of 18.5 kilometers, killed 2,900 people, caused massive destruction and left more than 380,000 people and towns in desperate need of assistance, according to local officials.
The most urgent needs are emergency shelter, sanitation and water supply, and medical care. ADRA has deployed an emergency response team to the earthquake affected areas for assesment and has begun preparing and distributing relief kits.

Note: When ADRA Japan receives funds for a specific purpose, such as an international emergency, we allocate up to 20% of the donation for administrative expenses for donation management, activity reporting, fundraising, and we also reallocate for activities in areas where is smaller and difficult to gather people’s attention and support.
The ratio of expenditures for activities in disaster-affected areas and developing countries was 89.6% and for administrative expenses was 10.4% in FY2021.
