- Description of the General Situation
- Whether your government has declared it an emergency and requested international assistance
- Mexican Government has declared that the borders are open to receive international support for the flooding emergency in Tabasco.
- Impact of the event
- Approximately 100,000 people are stranded on their roofs waiting to be rescued
- Over 1 million people affected
- No deaths reported yet since flooding was gradual
- Impossible to estimate damages now
- People has no food, no home, no jobs, no income
- Sanitation risks, lots of health problems once water is gone, and epidemic threats
- Families that are returning to their homes for rehabilitation.
- Projected/anticipated changes in situation over the coming weeks
- People still in shelters until they flooded area has recovered
- People returning to their homes to rehabilitate their homes

- State Civil Protection and Municipality has been leading the assistance

- We met with ECHO in Mexico City last Thursday, Nov. 8

- How ADRA is coordinating with lead agency and other NGOs
- We have been coordinating with Municipal Government all the way through the emergency.
- ADRA has been coordinating hand in hand with ACFE, a local NGO with educational and philanthropic mission.
- Current interventions
- Current status of ADRA’s response
- We have increased the number of shelters from 16 to 25. Mainly SDA churches and to storage buildings.
- We are providing 3 meals a day to 2100 people located in 26 shelters.
- Plan of action
- Outline what ADRA plans to do
- We will concentrate in outside communities located in Villahermosa. We will continue providing medical assistance, hot meals, hygiene kits and table stoves to families returning to their homes. Families still in shelters in need for prepared meals since they have nowhere to go.
- We will continue to assess the situation to determine what gaps of assistance exist and how ADRA can partner to expand our response to meet these gaps.

- About 500 volunteers helping in serving meals, supporting shelters, shipping and delivering resources.
